Feline Friday was started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.
He has handed hosting duties off to Sandee, of Comedy Plus, and it's simple to join, just follow the link to Sandee's page for the rules and the code.
Last Monday, a woman came to the shelter wanting to "drop off" a cat that she said she got off Craigslist, but did not want now because he was mean. As we are a private shelter with only so much room, you have to make an appointment. She left, and about two hours later, Ms. G opened the front door and this guy
ran in and went straight to the break room. She had dumped him in the bushes when we didn't agree to take him that moment. (Had she filled out the info and made an appointment, it only would have been a couple of days.)
We've named him Boy Wonder, and he's not mean in the slightest.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by McGuffy Ann Morris of McGuffy's Reader. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!
My fill-ins for the statements are underlined:
Week 79: November 10, 2017:
1. The best part of where I live is .
2. The worst part of where I live is .
3. If I had , I would .
4. My favourite article of cold weather clothing is .
1. The best part of where i live is the culture and the food, and the fact that we don't have what most people in this world would consider a "real" winter.
2. The worst part of where i live is the laid-back lifestyle can result in excess (especially when tourists come to do nothing but party, and the people here encourage it), and the fact that we don't have a "real" winter but the summers will melt you into a puddle. Hurricanes are kind of a bummer, too.
3. If i had the names of everyone who has abandoned animals at our shelter and other shelters in the 7 parish area, i would turn them over to law enforcement and let the officers have a heyday bringing them in and pressing charges. We have a "pound" (a/k/a animal control) that will take your animal, no questions asked, and over a dozen rescue groups that take every adoptable animal out of the pound and find good homes for all of them. You have a better option than abandonment in this area.
4. My favorite article of cold weather clothing is any pair of extra thick, extra warm socks. Oh, who am i trying to fool? My favorite article of cold weather clothing is every article of cold weather clothing i can squeeze onto my frozen self!
