It’s the time of year when we are debating what to fix for the big meal on Christmas Day. Most years, it is a copy of the Thanksgiving menu, but that is getting a bit boring, so talk is being bantered about that a few things might change.
It be Christmas, an’ de family done be settin’ down to eat the big meal. Tee fin’ly be a big ‘nuff boy dat Boudreaux done ax him to say a blessin’.
Well, Tee done take him de deep breath an’ say, “T’ank You, Dieu, fo’ de Baby Jesus, an’ fo’ Grand-mère an’ Grand-père, fo’ Mère an’ Père, fo’ Aline, an’ fo’ de turkey, de gravy, de gumbo, de rice dressin’.”
Den he stop, an’ he not say nothin’ fo’ ‘bout a minute, an’ Boudreaux say, “Tee, what be de matter?”
An’ Tee say, “Mais, Père, you done tol’ me not to lie, so I cain’t say t’ank you fo’ dem veggables!”
