"I swear, this plant is going to be the death of me!" she growled under her breath, yanking up yet another weed by the roots.
"It's not enough that I have them in my yard, but every time I pull all of them up, the seeds from the ones the neighbors are neglecting blow over here and I end up with even more of them," she continued to mutter, then, "ouch!" she yelled, as she tried to get up and twisted her ankle.
The new neighbor heard her yell and actually took the time to come over and ask, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just trying to get ahead of these weeds," she said, as she knew she hadn't really hurt anything, she was just upset with the situation.
"I've noticed I have them, too, and I need to do something about it; how about let me get in and change my clothes, and you can come over and show me how to deal with them."
"I'd be glad to," she smiled, as those words were music to her ears.

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
Today i am thankful for having my bank on my side in an ongoing dispute with Avis, the rental car people. They have overcharged us, the first time double what we owed, the second time triple, resulting in an overdraft. The bank, upon us producing the receipt of what we actually owed, gave us back the overdraft fee, and i am thankful. We’ll be even more thankful when Avis refunds what they took from us so we can pay the bills, and the bank has promised to dispute it on our behalf if they don’t do it soon.
