As he sat writing out his list of things to do and which day this week, "setting up the week" he called it, i just shook my head.

He doesn't leave room to bend for the unexpected, i thought to myself.

Sure enough, it happened -- the unexpected, that is, throwing a small curve into the week.

Nothing to totally destroy it, all is well and all will be well and all manner of things shall be well.

Still, as i keep trying to emphasize, all kinds of things can happen, it's best not to set everything in stone and count on everything going exactly as planned.

After all, this is our life, not someone else's, and our biggest rule (after love G-d and love people) is to stay flexible.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Bend.
(An explanation of the unexpected is today's thankful.)

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

This nice iron fence is on a street i do not often get to travel:

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

We wanted a desert dwelling gnome
To make our small garden his home,
So we planted with care,
And invited him there,
Now he says he will never more roam!

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful that we get to puppy-sit Coda, Little Girl's dog, while Little Girl is on orders for the LA National Guard.  Because of my work i do not feel i can give a dog the time and attention it deserves full time, but that doesn't mean we can't have a dog temporarily.  Even though it adds a bit of work and a slight complication to how we do things over the next few days, Coda is always a joy.
