Oh, boy, Thankful Day! And so far, we have survived the craziness leading up to major holidays. That’s always a great start.
We are still thankful and breathing a sigh of relief over #2 Son and his accident, it could have been so much worse.
The weather has been so pretty that Mr. L and Ms. V, who both grew up in California, keeping asking when did San Diego weather move to south Louisiana!
As noted earlier in the week, Carl had last Monday off, and i managed to get his area cleaned anyway.
Ms. RW had her phone stolen, and when i got to her house on Tuesday, there was panic. Because i’ve gone through the drill before, i was able to point them in the right direction, getting a police report so the police can look at surveillance video (she was at the drug store when someone broke into her car), getting the phone turned off so no one else can use it, getting the insurance to replace it. It’s not nice to go through it, but i’m thankful i can use the information i have had to accumulate.
Wednesday, Sweetie had extra work, so extra pay.
There was also a ladies’ gathering, outdoors as it should be, for church. It was lovely to get out for an evening.
Our Thursday client, Ms. SE, gave us a Thanksgiving bonus. She’s the only client i’ve ever had who does that, and this week it came in very handy.
She also only had three loads of laundry for me to fold. Much more than that and my back goes out.
Ms. S is having trouble with walking, and she has had a few other difficulties, too. Yesterday i am thankful i was able to talk to her daughter-in-law and we got a few problems ironed out, including about the rent check mix up.
The cat shelter has rearranged some things, and it seems to be working better to have all of the food, canned and dry, in one area not two, as well as a few other changes. Of course, next time i need something, i’ll have to go exploring to find it, but that’s okay.
Today, it’s off to Grandma and Grandpa’s, and next week is going to be extra busy. Every client will get attended to, so i am planning on being behind the eight-ball most of the week.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
