It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Uncle J's birthday was back on Thanksgiving Day this year, and this is about the fourth time that has happened that his birthday and Thanksgiving coincided. The first time we were teens, so i went and bought him a cookie cake with a turkey on it, and had it say, "A turkey for our turkey born on Turkey Day!"
He wasn't able to come down for Thanksgiving this year, but he did make it for Christmas (he isolated and tested before he came, and drove down instead of flying). That's why i made extra hojaldras on Christmas Eve for his birthday gift.
When i gave them to him, he hefted the bag and said, "Wow, you made a lot! Are you trying to make me fat? I'm going to regain all the weight I lost!" Laughing, i reminded him of how MawMaw always said that a fat baby is a healthy baby, and he responded, "But I'm not a baby any more, I'm an old man! And you are even older!"
A couple of days later, he sent me a text message. "I hate you for making me the hojaldras I'm almost finished already lol. I'm going to gain so much weight. Nice seeing you at Christmas, love ya."
Just goes to show that even snotty little brothers can grow up to be decent people eventually. ;)
