When i was a child, i did enjoy the book The Secret Garden, and i wanted a GARDEN of my own, SECRET or not.
Alas, i had to FOREVER ABANDON hope for such a thing, as i do not have the MAGIC touch to raise plants.
In fact, in my WORLD, i am known as a plant killer. Some clients use me to do weeding as i have a scorched earth policy when i'm done.
Plants give up on LIFE and commit suicide when they know i will own them. If they could WALK, they'd run away, i am certain.
If i had some herbs growing in pots above my window sill like some people do, you'd have to call it "death row".
The only exception was the plant in the Wordless Wednesday photo above. It was a decoration at Sweetie's work that was going to be thrown out after the event where it graced the head table, so he brought it home and put in on the porch, despite my protest that it wouldn't last through the SPRING.
We called it Gerry the Geranium, and i figured out the KEY to keeping it alive. By telling it it belonged to Sweetie, it lasted several years!
