Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by Cindi and posted on her page Of Dandelions and Sunshine

The Challenge:  They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  Write at least 100 words about this picture:

"You know what I've always wanted to do?"

"Surprise me."

"I want to build a paper airplane and throw it from up here."

"Well, why don't you?"

'Won't it fall and hurt someone?  Or is that a myth?"

"That's a myth.  People often say if you drop a penny from up here it would kill someone, but a physics professor proved it wrong.  He sent up a balloon over a field with a bunch of pennies in the basket, and used a remote control to drop them right on him.  He even caught some, he said it didn't hurt any more than if a small hailstone hit you.  Air provides resistance so it doesn't fall that fast, and a paper airplane wouldn't fall, it would glide down."

"Thanks, now I know what my next project will be!"

(Follow a paper airplane as it's thrown from a Manhattan skyscraper right here.)
