He first appeared in Ms. G's back yard wary, skinny, dirty and looking like he'd not had a very good start in life; he was one of those skittish cats that hug the shadows and eat furtively from the bowl of every cat in the neighborhood that's fed outdoors.
Ms. G was worried as he didn't seem very healthy at first, and he was a very long time being convinced to stay mostly in her back yard and eat what she gave him, as well as accept a bit of careful petting.
Eventually she trapped him and had him neutered and thoroughly vetted, and thanked her by disappearing for 36 hours as punishment, but by this time he knew what side his bread was buttered on (or where his food bowl was always full).
He now has his own heated kitty house for shelter, as well as a chair with a cat bed covered by a blue tarp to offer protection as well, his food bowl in the plastic dog house on the chaise lounge where it can stay dry, and treats and toys and even catnip once in a while.
Ms. G is using a baby gate at the back door to let him and Buddy get used to each other, although it's slow going as Buddy is used to being the big man cat in charge.
It's okay, though, CatCat has everything he needs for now, and eventually, whether he knows it or not, he's going to be an indoor beloved spoiled pet kitty.

May I Still Have This Dance?
I remember the first time I asked you, “May I have this dance?”
From the moment you were in my arms no other girl got a glance.
We twirled and spun the night away without another care,
Any guy who tried to cut in I warded off with a glare.
I remember the first time you asked me, “May I have this dance?”
At that moment you swept me off my feet, no other guy had a chance.
We danced and laughed and chatted the entire evening away,
And when I got home I told my mom, “I’ll marry him someday!”
I remember dancing at our wedding, you were the most beautiful bride!
I was nervous and humbled and a little scared and about to bust with pride.
The prettiest girl in the world, after all, had chosen to marry me,
I wanted to give the world to you and be the best that I could be.
When we danced that first dance at our wedding, I could hardly believe!
I was floating on air the whole day through, and when it was time to leave,
It was so exciting to start our new life in our own little two room flat.
We didn't need a fancy honeymoon, we had each other, that was that.
We've danced through job changes and kids and moves and more,
Good times and hard times have both taken turns coming through our door.
With my girl at my side, dancing with me, I knew I could face anything,
We've weathered the storms together, all of what life can bring.
I've always felt like I could face anything, as long as I'm dancing with you,
When you ask for a dance and smile at me, I never can stay blue.
The good and the bad have happened, we've certainly had our share,
I knew we'd get through it together, as long as I know you care.
Now as we're getting older, I want to take every chance
To ask my beautiful bride, "May I still have this dance?"
Our future may hold surprises, we don't know how long it will be,
But every day is a beautiful one if you will dance with me.
We may not be spring chickens, but I think you are just grand!
There's no one I'd rather dance with, in this or any land.
Every day we have together, I want to make it the best,
Yes, you may still have this dance, this day and all the rest!

This week my thankful is a funny one. Yesterday i was driving with my window down, enjoying the nice weather (it's supposed to get wet and then cold soon, so i wanted to enjoy it while i could) and i heard a funny noise. Since i was in a neighborhood and only doing the speed limit of 25mph, i kept hearing a click-click-click noise that sounded like it was coming from the front of my car, specifically from the tire. Pulling over, i got out and looked, and sure enough, i had a big pebble wedged in the tread of my driver's side tire and i could hear that thing hit the pavement with every turn of the tire! With a laugh, i pried it out and got back in the car, glad i'd solved that annoying click sound and no mechanic needed!
