The local soda fountain was
the ice cream lover's dream,
a part of the local drug store,
had everything you'd ever seen.
You'd come to get your medicine
and couldn't leave without
a comic book or smelly perfume,
and an ice cream, without a doubt.
Kids would hang around here
as soon as school was done,
much better than just meeting online,
it's sad that they're mostly gone.
(Note the word mostly. Our local soda fountain still exists, although it's not a drug store any longer, just the sodas and ice cream and burgers part.)
