End of the Range (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day and Brian's Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

My Sweetie and i were sitting at the kitchen table yesterday (really) and we suddenly started to hear an annoying beep.

Tracking it down, we found our old range/oven set had malfunctioned and nothing we did could get the incessant beeping to stop.

This appliance quit working years ago and the oven part is only used for storage, the top is where the pots and pans live.  We'd already switched to induction cookers long ago and a portable oven; this was only plugged in because we hadn't taken the time to pull it out from it's place in the counter and unplug it.

There being no time like the present, especially when at present it is making an annoying sound and won't stop, Sweetie and i dragged it away from the wall, i removed the storage drawer from the bottom so he could reach around under it, and it was unplugged and silenced.

This served two good purposes, it made sure we won't have this problem again, and it gave me my Six Sentence Story for today!

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Range.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

The people's first pup usta use this door,

he was a pip squeak so close to the floor.

I'm a bigger guy and I gotta say,

once they get a bigger door, get outta my way!

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful for loose house dresses and sandals, as the swamps are hot even though it's supposed to be almost winter.
