The weather prediction was for storms, and storms there were.  It made me glad Sweetie and i had put the garbage cans in the storage room and brought our porch chairs in.

Ms. G and i were able to get all the outdoor work and errands done, just in time.

Once the vault of the heavens opened up, there was standing water in the streets in no time and she and i were just getting the groceries into the house when lightning struck close enough for us to feel the concussion from the thunder immediately.

It came down, and then stopped rather quickly, then went in fits and starts over the next few hours while areas not far from us got tornado warnings and we were told to watch for flash floods.

All of us were thankful for the beauty of the sunset, the red at night bringing us delight in knowing we'd have cooler and clear weather the next morning.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Vault.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poems:

I'm just about done

retying my shoe

then I will turn

and claim little you.

This isn't the ride

I thought we were taking,

there's no wings on this thing,

a mistake we are making!

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful Ms. G, my Wednesday boss, came and picked me up for work yesterday, and she's giving me a ride today, also, until we can borrow a car from a friend.
