Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.
This month, the prompts are being provided by Lissa.
This week's prompts are some onomatopoeias:

Charlotte/Mother Owl has chosen Graphite Black for the color of the month.
Aralee shook her head as the looked at how the room was set up.
The chalkboard, its Graphite Black color looking out of place to her in this era of white boards and dry erase markers, had a grid marked out on it.
Down the side, each of the new recipes being tried by friends and family was listed in alphabetical order, a row for each.
Across the top, the columns were labeled UH-OH, MEH, WOO, YUM, and YIPPEE.
Kirsten was putting the finishing touches on the tables, each with small disposable plates, forks, a basket of crackers, cups and a pitcher of water, and most important, a chafing dish of one of their new recipes.
"Is that our rating system?" Aralee asked, pointing to the grid.
"Yes," Kirsten replied. "Everyone tries every recipe, with a cracker and a sip of water between, and rates them all. The one that gets the most 'yippee' votes will be added to our menu."
"I think I know who's going to benefit the most from this whole thing," Aralee smiled.
"Who?"
"Your brothers. I'll bet they label every one a 'yippee.' I've never seen either of them turn down any chow."
"That's fine," Aralee said, "they're the insurance we don't have leftovers to haul back to the building, and if they refuse something, we'll know to never do anything like that again!"
